The round table “Strategic approach to improve policy, quality and access issues to abortion services in the R. of Moldova: expansion of abortion comprehensive care model”
On June 27 at the Health Ministry of Republic of Moldova, was held the round table “Strategic approach to improve policy, quality and access issues to abortion services in the Republic of Moldova: expansion of abortion comprehensive care model”, organised by the Reproductive Health Training Center (RHTC) in collaboration with the Health Ministry of Republic of Moldova and with support of World Health Organization (WHO).
Mr. Ronnie Johnson, WHO representative, spoke about the implementation of safe abortion: technical recommendations and health systems policies. Rodica Comendant, PhD presented the phase III of the strategic approach: development and pilot testing of the comprehensive abortion care model in Moldova. The doctors, from model-centres of implementing the model of comprehensive abortion care, shared their experience accumulated during one year of activity. Mrs. Veronica Dorogoi, gynaecologist of the Consultative Department in Balti, presented the results related to the functioning of abortion comprehensive care model in the Perinatal Centre in Balti during 2009 – 2011. The countrywide expansion of safe abortion successful interventions in the context of the National Reproductive Health Strategy for 2005 – 2015 was presented by Stelian Hodorogea, PhD, and discussed during the plenary.
