Dear all,

 

Please find attached sign-on letter that highlights proposed changes to the abortion legislation in Russia, which would seriously undermine Russian women’s reproductive rights. We are planning to send this letter to the President of the Russian Federation, as well as to key ministers, key MPs and members of the Federation Council, and the speaker of the Duma. Some of the proposed changes will be voted on in the Duma on Sept 7, so we are in a rush. Therefore we cannot incorporate changes in the letter at this point.

 

We would like as many NGOs and individuals to sign as possible. Please write back to me with your name and, if applicable, the name of your institution, if you are willing to sign the letter. We will then organize individual letters to all recipients, translate them into Russian, and send them out next week. CRR and the RAPD will be main sponsors of the letter.

 

We need your signature by Friday, Sept 2, at the latest.
