New article from the ROE Consortium

By providing post-abortion follow-up care to their patients, NP's can increase continuity of reproductive healthcare. Joyce Cappiello, Director of AAP’s Reproductive Options Education (ROE) Consortium, and advisory board members Margie Beal and Kathy Simmonds have an article in this month's The Nurse Practitioner: The American Journal of Primary Healthcare. The focus of the article, “Clinical issues in post-abortion care,” is on post abortion care skills for the primary care nurse practitioner. The article gives an overview of the clinical issues in post abortion care, including the expected post-abortion course, possible complications and the components of the post-abortion visit. This article represents an important way that the ROE Consortium provides leadership around abortion issues in the nurse practitioner community.
