Latvia: SRHR Becomes Development Cooperation Priority

In a press release issued 7 July, the EuroNGOs member organisation and IPPF MA "Papardes Zieds", the Latvian Association for Family Planning and Sexual Health, welcomed the recent decision to prioritize SRHR in Latvia’s development cooperation policies.
The respective policy planning document, including guidelines for the period 2011-2015, was approved by Latvia’s Cabinet of Ministers on 5th July with guidelines for the period 2011-2015. As stated by Iveta Kelle, Executive Director of Papardes Zieds, the only NGO in Lativa advocating for SRHR in Development Cooperation policies: “We see this as a great opportunity to continue our work in development cooperation and further promote sexual and reproductive health and rights”. Papardes Zieds" is the leading NGO working in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights in Latvia. Since 2006 it is also implementing projects on development cooperation and education on SRHR.
