ICMA would like to thank everyone who contributed and provided support and guidance in the conceptualization, development, writing, review, editing, translation, formatting, design and production of the Information Package on Medical Abortion. The preparation of the Package involved collaborative work among a dedicated team of experts connected with ICMA in a variety of ways for more than two years.

The concept was developed by the ICMA Steering Committee with TK Sundari Ravindran, an independent researcher on gender, women's health and rights from Trivandrum, India, who wrote many drafts of the first four sections and put together the resources list.

Each chapter was peer reviewed by several members of ICMA’s Advisory Group and other experts, including Eunice Brookman-Amissah, Barbara Crane, Ann Furedi, Kristina Gemzell-Danielsson, Daniel Grossman, Danielle Hassoun, Helena von Hertzen, Leila Hessini, Barbara Klugman, Silvina Ramos, María Luisa Sanchez, Anand Tamang, Cristina Villarreal, Susan Yanow, Nina Zamberlin and Christina Zampas. We are grateful to these external reviewers for their valuable input, especially Helena von Hertzen and Kristina Gemzell-Danielsson, without whose technical input this project could never have been completed.

The ICMA Steering Committee engaged in continuing review of the text and ensured that it was checked and re-checked, consistent across chapters, relevant to developing countries and the audiences it was intended for, and that it was updated as new information became available, including Marge Berer, Bela Ganatra, Sharad Iyengar, Wanda Nowicka, Mariana Romero, Beverly Winikoff, and WHO observer Peter Fajans.

Helena von Hertzen and Kristina Gemzell-Danielsson did the final revision of chapters one and three. Marge Berer did the final revision of chapters two and four and edited all four chapters.

The translators and editors who translated and edited the Information Package in six additional languages were: Sunita Bhadauria, translator and editor for Hindi; Françoise DeLuca-Lacoste, translator and editor for French; Irena Digol, translator, and Larisa Vdovicenco, editor, for Russian; Jacqueline Thompson, translator, and Wilza Vieira Villela and Ana Tereza Andrade, editors, for  Portuguese; Gabriela Nanni and Mariela Magnelli, translators, and Mariana Romero, editor, for Spanish; Hayam Basiony, translator, and Hayam Mohamed Basiony, Mohammad Mzal Diabat, Hisham Taher Shatla and Ahmad Mohamed Ahmad, editors, for Arabic. We are grateful to all of them for their work in helping us to make this information available far beyond an English-speaking readership around the world.

Rodica Comendant, assisted by Irina Tarasenco and Ludmila Tulus, coordinated all the work and ensured that the project as a whole, including peer reviews, editing, translation, web design and CD-rom production were carried out. The web manager A. Malaniiuc has placed the info package on ICMA website www.medicalabortionconsortium.org and coordinated the CD development. The ICMA Steering Committee thanks all of them for their supportive encouragement for everyone involved and their cheerful insistence that the project be completed.

This was an important learning exercise for everyone who contributed and we hope it will be a valuable global resource.
